Day 1 We depart bright and early this morning as we travel south, past Jellico Mountain, beyond Knoxville to Asheville, North Carolina, to the Biltmore Estate and the Festival of Flowers Celebration. This afternoon we will tour the lush landscaped grounds and formal gardens. Throughout the estate the hundreds of flowers form a display of color. From the Gardens to the House and Winery, spectacular floral displays say, “It’s springtime!” At the conclusion of our touring we enjoy a delightful local dinner. After dinner check in to a local hotel for the evening. D
Day 2 A deluxe Continental breakfast is included at the hotel before checkout. This morning we again ride the 3-mile approach to the incredible 12,000-acre Biltmore Estate for an audio-guided House Tour. The heart of the Biltmore Estate is the 250-room Biltmore House, a European chateau built in French Renaissance style by the tycoon George Washington Vanderbilt. Our tour covers the first, second and third floor family and guest areas, plus the basement recreation area, kitchens, servants’ areas, and the Bachelors’ Wing. Our ticket will again gain us access to the Gardens for more self-guided touring. After our morning tour, we will enjoy a delicious luncheon buffet at the Deer park Restaurant located on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate and originally a dairy barn. After lunch we will enjoy a self-guided tour of the Biltmore Winery. Plan to arrive back late evening, full of wonderful memories of a delightful Festival of Flowers Biltmore Tour. B, L
